Air Fryer Cajun Chicken

Air fryer cajun chicken breast packed full of flavor and delicious. This cajun chicken in air fryer is easy and quick to make with a cooking time of less than 20 minutes. Serve with sides like air fryer diced potatoes, and broccoli.

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon each Oregano, Thyme, and black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions

  • Mix the Cayenne, paprika, onion, garlic, oregano, thyme, black pepper, and salt.
  • Pat the chicken dry with kitchen towels, brush with oil, and sprinkle the seasoning generously all over the chicken breasts.
  • Arrange the cajun seasoned chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Leave space between the chicken breasts.
  • Set the air fryer to 200C/400F and air fry cajun chicken for 6-8 minutes. Flip the chicken and air fry for another 6-8 minutes to make 12-16 minutes in total.
  • Bring the chicken breasts out of the air fryer. Rest them for 5 minutes then serve.

Notes

  • This recipe can be used for boneless chicken thighs.
  • Cut the chicken breast into 1-inch cubes to make it cajun chicken bites. If you do this, cook for 8-10 minutes as chicken bites cook quicker.
  • You can make it with chicken tenders or strips however, you'll need to adjust the cooking time as tenders cook quicker than chicken breasts.
  • Don't overlap the chicken in the air fryer.
  • Add any herb of your choice to the seasoning.
  • Adjust the pepper quantity to suit your taste.
  • Cook the chicken till the internal temperature is at least 75C/165F. This can be checked using an instant read meat thermometer.
