Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 Ripe Plantain
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions

  • Cut the Plantain- Cut the tips off the ends. Slice the skin to unwrap the plantain.
Lay the plantain on a flat surface and using a sharp knife, cut diagonally.
  • Add the cut ripe plantains to a bowl then add in olive oil. Rub the oil all over the plantains.
  • Arrange the plantains in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Don't overlap or pile them.
  • Air fry plantains at 200C/400F for 10-12 minutes or till they are browned..
  • Serve and Enjoy.

Notes

  • Use ripe plantain that has yellow skin.
  • The olive oil helps the plantain to brown and crisp nicely so don't skip on it.
  • You can experiment with seasoning plantains- Like kelewele (Ghanian fried plantain dish, you can add ginger, pepper, and garlic powder).
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer. If it doesn't fit all the plantains then cook them in batches.
  • Keep an eye on the timer as the difference between perfectly fried and burnt is a few minutes.
  • They are best served hot.
