Exactly one month ago on the 5th of July 2014, a group of ladies gathered at Cowdray hall in Grays Essex for a cookout tagged 'The little Essex Cookout'.
The Cookout was aimed at socialising, networking, all things food, merrying and raising money for charity. It was put together by some lovely ladies namely: Funmi Adegoke, Olukemi Amusa of K's Cuisine , Hariat Tumi Orimole, Omotunde Bola Adewusi, Lola Sotonwa, Abolly Abolanle, Bunmi of Cooking Enthusiast and Olubunmi Fajinmi-Alewi.
It was a fun filled day with lots of food, drinks, music, gifts and prizes. We had over 40 attendees (we had cut off at 50 as we didn't want too many people as a first) and our sponsors who gave us gifts, their services among other things included Kemi Kings, Rayo Abe of Panari, Bantuway, Dj Remiz, Bola Adeduro, Olayemi Oyewo of Hcube events.
Not only did attendees have fun eating and socializing, we raised about £736 for our chosen charity which was the Sickle cell society.
Take it from me Essex ladies can cook! we are generous and we rock! I am proud to be able to represent and contribute positively to the Essex community where I reside. You know as the saying goes..Charity begins at home' ????
Below are some of the pictures taken at the event. Enjoy.
