Microwave mug moin moin (microwave moin moin ) or if made in ramekin or any other microwave safe dish, microwave moin is the fastest way of cooking moin moin or moi moi .

Hello K fam and Cands, how are you all doing? Today i am giving you a recipe with super quick cooking time. It's microwave mug moi moi! Oh yes we changing the moin moin game.

It's no doubt moin moin takes time from start to finish. From peeling beans, to blending, mixing, wrapping in leaves and then the cooking time! It is a labour of love no doubt????. Years ago i gave you the super fast method of peeling beans with blender (HERE) and today i'm giving you a super fast method of cooking moin moin.

What do you call it.. moin moin or moi moi? I call it moin moin.

Anyway, Let's Cook:

How to make microwave mug moin moin (microwave moi moi )

INGREDIENTS

Moin Moin batter (HERE)

Vegetables (Optional)

Boiled Eggs (sliced)

Mackerel (boiled and deboned)

DIRECTIONS

1) Get all ingredients ready. To peel beans for moin moin batter using blender click HERE, For recipe for moin moin batter click HERE.

So, u have the batter mixed and ready

3) Add eggs, mackerel and vegetables

You can also use any microwave safe bowl. Like below i used plastic containers but then they will be called microwave moin moin????

4) Cover moin moin filled mug with a microwave safe lid, put in the microwave and initially cook on defrost setting using weight defrost at 20g for 3 - 4 minutes then switch to microwave setting for another 2 minutes. It takes about 5 minutes in total but depending on microwave model and size of mug cooking timer may slightly vary.

5) Microwave moin moin is ready.

Just take a look at that...Cooked in out, moist and fluffy! I used a big mug so one mug was enough for one person

I did some by steaming on stove top. I kid you not we had finished dinner and it must have started digesting before the stove top one was done!

    Hello K, thank you for this innovative piece. I ran out of gas this evening and the my backup plan - kerosene stove had limited oil. I steamed the first badge on the stove top and the remainder, I looked up how to make moi moi with microwave and voilla! Your post came up. I followed your detailed instructions and true to your words, 'I kid you not', fantastic result. Very fluffy and the stove top badge is still cooking with over 30 minutes more to go.

    Great idea.. will definitely have to invest 8n some big mugs and try this. .i get tired of making foil packs2

    Thanks for sharing this is going to come in handy the next time I make moin moin. Quick one, how many mins do you keep it in for the defrost setting? Is that different from the 5 mins you mentioned?

      Hello Titi, weight defrost on 20.00 for 3 minutes and then high for 2 minutes. Will update the post to make clearer. Thanks
