Air fryer sausage patties recipe! These sausage patties in air fryer are juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection with no extra grease or oil. With this easy, and quick recipe, all you need is 6-8 minutes of cooking time.

They are great in sandwiches, burgers, served with eggs, or as a side to waffles, pancakes, or French toast.

If you are new to air frying, you probably do not know that you can cook your sausage in the air fryer from fresh or frozen. I am going to be sharing all the details on how I save time and achieve these golden brown delicious sausages in minutes.

I love my meat in the morning and these sausage patties are my favorites. They are crispy outside and juicy inside with no extra oil. Cooking breakfast in the morning has become stress-free, easy and ready with no prep time.

Why Cook Sausage Patties In Air Fryer

Cooking sausage patties in air fryer is hands off. Since I got my air fryer, it has made cooking easy, fun, and a lot more handsfree. I am that momma that is making coffee with one hand while flipping sausages with the other hand. With this recipe, my hands are free to make my morning coffee without worrying about the oil splatter from the stovetop.

The recipe I will be sharing works great with fresh, or frozen sausage patties. It's so easy, my teenagers use it to fix their breakfast. All you have to do is put in the air basket, air fry, flip and you have the golden brown, crispy sausage for your breakfast! It is that simple and foolproof!

Another reason to cook sausage patties in air fryer is the fact they are cooked with no oil, which makes it healthier than cooking on the stovetop. Air frying uses little or no oil, that is winning!

The patties can be cooked frozen or thawed. When I use frozen sausage patties, I adjust the cooking time by a few minutes.

Air Fryer Sausage Patties Recipe

Like I mentioned earlier, this air fryer sausage patties recipe is easy, and simple. Sausages are rich in protein, nutritious, low carb and makes a great breakfast to start the day. This recipe does not use oil or any spray.

We buy the sausage patties from the store, so we do not have to shape or cut them into circles. We love Jimmy Dean sausages, Johnsonville sausages, and store brand sausages. This recipe can be used with all brands of patties, fresh or frozen. You can adjust cooking time if using precooked, or fresh patties.

What You Will Need To Make It

Raw or precooked sausage patties (frozen or thawed)

Air Fryer

Kitchen tongs or spatula

How To Cook Sausage Patties in Air Fryer

These are the steps to cook it:

Arrange the patties on the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overlap!

Air fry sausage patties for 4 minutes at 390F/190C.

Flip the patties with a tong or spatula and air fry for another 4 minutes.

Bring out the patties, serve and enjoy.

The internal temperature of the sausage should be 160F when fully cooked.

How Long To Cook Sausage Patties In Air Fryer

This varies based on the sausage patties; raw or precooked? frozen or thawed? the size, and thickness of the patties. Precooked sausage patties will cook faster than raw sausages. Thawed sausages will cook faster than frozen sausages.

How long to cook sausage patties in air fryer is between 6-8 minutes.

For how long to cook frozen sausage patties in air fryer, add 4 minutes in total to the cooking time. That is air fry for 6 minutes at 390F/190C on each side.

Note that air fryer varies by brand, size, and wattage so you might have to adjust the above cooking time by a few minutes. Adjust time accordingly using the time in this recipe as a guide. For accuracy, use a meat thermometer.

They are cooked when the internal temperature when checked with a meat thermometer is 160F.

Serving Suggestion

These patties are great with all breakfast foods. They can be used for breakfast sandwiches or as a side dish. Some suggestions of what to serve with are:

How To Store

We have a big family and we love to make extra to keep in the refrigerator or freezer.

In the fridge- It can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container or storage bags for up to 4 days. If you would like to store for longer, use the freezer storage instructions.

In the freezer- They can be stored in the freezer for several months. After putting it in airtight container or freezer storage bag, label, it and store for up to 4 months. If freezing a large batch, separate each layer with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together.

Reheating: You can reheat in the air fryer, microwave, or on the stovetop.

To reheat in the air fryer: Arrange the sausage patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 350oF for 4 minutes.

To reheat in the microwave: Arrange on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a microwave dish, and microwave on high for 5-8 seconds.

Tips

  • Cook at 390 F for 8 minutes or check for doneness with a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be 160F when cooked.
  • Air Fryer brands vary as well as temperature setting, air fry at less than 400F to avoid smoking.
  • Arrange sausage patties in a single layer, do not overcrowd the basket. Overcrowding will cause uneven cooking.
  • Pork sausages internal temperature should be 160F for raw sausages and 145F for precooked pork sausage patties.
