Eba food (garri) is a Nigerian staple and it is one of Nigerian Swallows (Nigerian fufu ) eaten across the country. This post will be showing you how to make eba (lumpfree), smooth Nigerian eba in 3 easy steps. The whole process takes 5 minutes or less and you get Eba without lumps.

Eba food. How to make garri . lump free eba

First, let me tell you what inspired this post. The other day, i was teaching Zahrah (my dearest daughter number 1) how to make Eba then i thought wait a minute, let me shoot the process and put on the blog as it might come in useful for someone out here searching for easy step by step of making garri. Although I have Eba roll post on the blog from 2014, but that post focused more on how to design eba and make it look pretty and appetising. You can check it out HERE.

This was made by my 7 year old and it was her first time too! She didn't do badly at all except she tried holding the spoon like she was holding pencil! lol.. anyway she got there in the end and i have since told her henceforth she will be making her eba herself.

What is Eba? Nigerian Eba

Eba is one of the most common swallow (Fufu) in Nigeria. It is made with processed cassava called garri. You can eat it with soups like Efo riro, Okro soup, Afang, etc. It is made with hot water and garri and i am going to be showing you today how easy it is to make lump free eba.

What is eba food made of?

Eba is made with garri (processed cassava). There are different types of garri depending on the state it is processed and how it is processed. For example, we have garri ijebu, garri oyo, garri ibo.

Garri ijebu is the sour type which is good for drinking and also for making eba. Ibo garri is usually made with some palm oil which gives it it's yellow colour. This type is not favored for drinking by the Yorubas.

Is Eba healthy? Yes Eba is healthy and can be eaten on Nigerian weightloss diet. ½ Cup of garri has 218kcal. To learn more about sustainable Nigerian weightloss, Check out my other website www.weightlossrepublic.com
