I like to use canned tuna in olive oil but when that is not available, I use tuna in brine. I drain the brine before use.

There is no need for tomatoes for this canned tuna in pasta recipe.

Ingredients

Here are what you will need to make tuna pasta:

Pasta - I used spaghetti however you can substitute spaghetti for any other long pasta like linguine, or short pasta like penne.

Canned Tuna - I like to use tuna in Olive oil. If using tuna in brine, drain the brine before adding the tuna to the pot.

Onion - I use brown onion for this recipe however, any onion will do just fine.

Garlic - Garlic cloves minced or chopped.

Italian seasoning- This can be substituted with mixed herbs.

Black pepper- Substitutions for black pepper can be cayenne pepper or red chilli flakes.

Salt- To taste

Olive oil

Parsley

Let the tuna fish pasta cool completely then transfer it to a sealable bowl before storing it in the fridge for up to 3 days.

It can be reheated in the microwave or on the stove. If reheating on the stove, sprinkle with water and cook on medium heat till it's warmed through.

If reheating it in the microwave, transfer it to a microwave-safe bowl, sprinkle the pasta with a tablespoon of water, and heat on the high settings for 1-2 minutes or till it's heated through.
