Pan Fried Sea Bass Recipe

This pan fried sea bass recipe is simple but you get perfectly fried and delicious fish fillets that can be served with side dishes for a tasty dinner.

Pan frying sea bass takes less than 10 minutes, therefore, it's a quick recipe you can whip up when time is of the essence and you want a meal on the table in no time.

This recipe for pan fried sea bass with skin on uses 3 ingredients as the seasoning and it's flavorful and delicious so if you're after a recipe that is budget friendly, and quick, this is the one.

Although I used just 3 spices for the seasoning, you can add herbs like thyme and parsley for additional flavor.

Sea bass is high in protein, nutritious, budget friently, and delicious.

What You Will Need

Here are the ingredients for Pan seared Sea bass:

Sea bass - Chilean sea bass or any sea bass. I used sea bass fillets.

Paprika

Garlic powder

Black pepper

Salt

Oil- Olive oil, vegetable, sunflower oil or any tasteless oil.

How To Pan Fry Sea Bass

Step 1- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.

Step 2- Mix paprika, garlic, black pepper, and salt.

Sprinkle the seasoning on all sides of the sea bass fillets.

Step 4- Place a frying pan or skillet on medium heat.

Add olive oil and when the oil is heated, gently arrange the fish fillets skin side down in the pan.

Step 5- Pan fry sea bass fillet for 2-3 minutes, then gently flip them and fry the other side for another 2-3 minutes.

Take off the heat and serve on a plate.

Squeeze some lemon juice on it and serve with any sauce and sides of your choice.

How Long To Pan Fry Sea Bass

How long to pan fry Sea bass fillets on medium heat is 4-8 minutes. That is 2-4 minutes on each side. The skin should be crispy and golden brown and the inside will be white, flaky, and tender.

Storage

When the fish is completely cooled, place in a sealable container or Ziploc and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
It can easily be reheated in the microwave.

Tips For Pan Seared Sea Bass Skin On

  • It's best to fry the skin side first.
  • After gently placing the fish into the pan, don't move it until after the first two minutes to prevent it from breaking or sticking to the pan.
  • You can use any seasoning of your choice to season the fish fillets.
  • Keep an eye on the fish as the difference from well done to burnt can be as little as 1 minute.
