Easy chicken suya recipe. This Nigerian suya chicken is spicy, tender, juicy, and bursting with flavors. It's a delicious protein dish that is a popular Nigerian street food and can be served as an appetizer, or main dish.

Hello all, You'll love today's recipe. I made some last week and took pictures for the blog but before I could upload the recipe, I made another batch just days ago. I like the new pictures better than the previous ones so I am using those for this post.

Ingredients

Chicken parts - I used drumsticks but you can use chicken breast, thighs, or any other part.

Suya spice- This is also known as Yaji. It is made with peanuts, ginger, and some other spices. I used my K's Cuisine suya spice. Here's a good homemade suya spice recipe.

Vegetable Oil

Stock cube

Salt

Step by Step Instructions

Here's a step by step directions on how to make chicken suya:

1) Put the chicken in a bowl and pat dry.

2) Add vegetable oil, stock cubes, suya spice, and salt.

3) Mix well and cover with cling film. Leave in the fridge to marinate for 1 hour.

4) Arrange the seasoned chicken in a baking tray or dish.

5) Bake in the oven at 200C/400F for 30-40 minutes or until cooked through.

Enjoy Chicken suya served with more Yaji, onions, and tomatoes or with any side of your choice.

  • 1 kg chicken
  • 2-3 tablespoons Suya spice
  • 1 stock cube
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • Salt

Notes

  • Serve with more suya spice.
  • Suya spice is also known as Yaji.
  • If you use any other chicken part, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
