This oven baked chicken leg quarters recipe is easy and quick. The juicy baked chicken legs come out packed full of flavour, and it is also tender and juicy inside with crispy skin.
It smells good and tastes amazing. It is also high in protein, nutritious and delicious.
Only a few seasonings are used to make this recipe and the chicken comes out so good.
These easy baked chicken quarters are versatile. It can be eaten on its own, and can also be served with various side dishes including potatoes, rice, vegetables, pasta, and more.
Ingredients
Here are what you will need to make it:
Chicken leg quarters- This is known as chicken legs in the UK.
Paprika
Onion granules
Garlic granules
Rosemary
Parsley
Black pepper
Tomato paste
Soy sauce
Olive oil
How To Bake Chicken Leg Quarters In The Oven
In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic granules, onion granules, rosemary, parsley, black pepper, tomato paste, soy sauce, salt, and olive oil.
Pat the chicken legs dry with kitchen towels then use a knife to make 2 slashes on each leg quarter.
Add the seasoning mix (marinade) to the chicken and rub till all areas of the chicken are well covered in the seasoning mix.
Tip: If time is not of the essence, you can cover the chicken with clingfilm and put it in the fridge to marinate for 1 hour.
Arrange the chicken quarters in a baking dish or tray then bake chicken legs in the oven at a temperature of 200C/400F for 45 minutes.
Bring out the chicken, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy with any side dish of your choice.
How Long To Bake Chicken Leg Quarters In The Oven
How long to bake chicken leg quarters in the oven varies depending on the oven temperature and how big or thick the chicken quarters are. Here's a guide I follow that works all the time:
How long to bake chicken legs in the oven at 400F/200C is 40- 45 minutes.
How long to bake chicken legs at 375F/175C is 50-55 minutes.
I don't recommend baking at a lower temperature.
It is cooked when the core temperature is at least 75C. The inside will be juicy, and there will be no blood. Also, the skin will be crispy and golden brown.
Serving Suggestion
Baked chicken leg quarters can be served with side dishes for a complete meal. Here are some suggestions:
Vegetables
Mashed potatoes
Salad
Pasta

How To Store
Let the chicken cool completely, transfer them into a ziploc or an airtight container then put it in the fridge where it will store well for up to 4 days, or store it in the freezer where it'll store well for up to 6 months.
Reheating- Reheat in the microwave by removing the packaging and placing the chicken on a microwave-safe plate. Cover and microwave at high settings for 1 minute and every 30 seconds thereafter until it's heated through to how you want it.
To reheat it in the oven- Place the chicken on a baking tray, add a tablespoon of water, and bake at 180C/380F for 10 minutes or till warmed through.

- Make slashes on the chicken to get the seasoning inside.
- Add your favorite herbs to the seasoning mix if you desire.
- Place the baking tray or dish in the middle of the oven for even cooking.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before you cut into it.
